Our client, a leading Waterford based company have an opportunity for a Senior Scientist to complete a 12 month contract. The Role: Designing and planning experiments and critically reviewing data, performing statistical analysis of analytical results and taking informed decisions on next steps. Involvement in new technology development. Compilation and reviewing of technical protocols, reports and regulatory submission documents. Working within a cross-functional team, on occasion take a leading role. Communicate and/or liaise at all levels: manager, peers and junior colleagues. Participate in and lead projects. Generating ideas / providing solutions to problems. On occasion, may oversee work of others and mentor analysts. Strong compliance/quality focus in compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines. Schedule project work to agreed timelines - discuss timelines with Technical Leader/Departmental Manager. Where appropriate and on occasion, directing the work and providing technical guidance to analysts/ team. Identification, development and validation of test & analytical methods. Identification, development and validation of methods to characterise products, raw materials and device components. Support the design, planning, scheduling and implementation of work programmes. Structure work to ensure technical goals are achieved and challenges are addressed promptly. Actively participate within cross functional teams to ensure technical progress and issues are communicated effectively and in a timely fashion. The Person. PhD, Masters or BSc with between 5 & 10 years experience. Knowledge of: Analytical chemistry, regulatory landscape. A good general all round development scientist with expertise in scientific or technical areas as designated by the appointment. Problem solving; experimental design; statistics; method development; product characterisation; project management; communication; leadership. Respiratory product development; technical specialist within the analytical field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Innovation management: Capable of “out of the box” thinking. Leadership: Self reliant with minimal supervision. Capable of working independently and of providing guidance to others.
