Our client, an established Manufacturing company in Kilkenny is currently looking to recruit an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist for their site. This job requires a manufacturing understanding and will provide exciting international opportunities within the company. This role will involve working with other departments and numerous suppliers. The Role: To manage the Manufacturing Quality function and assure quality of associated products and processes. To ensure that all products are manufactured and all activities are conducted in accordance with all relevant standards, policies and procedures. To maintain the company's record in audit success from customers and external agencies such as ISO and other relevant certifications. To lead all departments in preparation for audits. To manage programs for the selection, approval, monitoring and development of suppliers. To ensure that all functions of the Quality department are managed effectively, e.g. testing and inspection. Develop a continuous improvement culture and ISO awareness within manufacturing. Adopt a strategy of defect prevention in preference to the traditional approach of defect detection. Work toward improved long term relationships with suppliers, promoting among them the philosophy of never­ ending improvement in quality and productivity. Promote an atmosphere throughout the division, which fosters employee involvement, teamwork, and the understanding that quality is everyone's responsibility and that customer satisfaction and repeat orders are the measure of quality performance. Serve as an advisor to Company personnel in all quality matters, i.e. the design of a quality control system, experimental design, etc. Have design capabilities in relation to the products and an understanding of the manufacturing process. The Person: A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience with a manufacturing company including responsibility for product and process quality, regulatory compliance as well as quality training and development. A primary degree in an Engineering discipline and preferably a post graduate qualification in quality assurance. Must be excellent communicator and quality leader. Exceptional communication, inter-personal and team leadership skills are essential.
