Reporting to: Site General Manager. Purpose of the Job: Required to deliver a high level of customer service through collaborative and streamlined planning processes. Create partnership with commercial partners to ensure customer centric inventory policies are in place that balance SKU characteristics and business cash ambitions. Work closely with site leadership team members to optimise manufacturing fixed and variable cost elements where possible. Responsibilities: Optimisation of the end to end planning processes in collaboration with the UK based Regional planning team to deliver a high standard of customer service, maintain a strong cash position and enable competitive advantage. Facilitate collaborative planning with commercial teams and the operations contract team as input to sales forecast in order to continually improve forecasting performance in each relevant commercial Business Unit. Ensure input parameters including resourcing and inventory targets are evaluated and optimised in alignment with Budget and QFR processes as well as peak season reviews. Develop and roll-out SKU portfolio management practices which increase profitability and reduce portfolio complexity based on cross functional levers including SKU performance thresholds, hurdle rates and minimum order quantities. Creation of an overall 13 week demand plan and production plans for input to monthly demand and supply review processes. Accountable for ensuring statistical demand plan is available for each business unit. Consistent use of KPI dashboard to deliver a high level of customer service as well as overall manufacturing costs. Support the professional and personal development of the planning team and optimise their individual expertise and experience for the delivery of all business objectives. Lead and manage any relevant projects. Qualifications: Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline. APICS/Business qualification. Project Management and Business Management qualifications are desirable. Skills: Charismatic and inspirational leader, able to influence, motivate and generate team working. High level of communication skills, able to operate successfully across an organisation at all levels. Ability to manage key stakeholders and build effective networks essential. Personality capable of driving change, providing fresh thinking and an alternative perspective. A self-starter, able to take the initiative and push projects forward, solution focused. Always engaged with industry leading practices and ensuring the best standards are implemented. Disciplined with a natural flair for organisation and project management. Gravitas – able to influence and construct an engaging business case/argument. Highly ambitious, open to driving your career in other directions to the advantage of your professional development and business needs. Experience: Experience in a senior planning role gained in dynamic FMCG businesses. Customer service and supply chain operational experience at a senior level preferential. Commercially astute, able to maintain and drive the business against targets and forecasts. Operations leadership experience a distinct advantage especially in the beverage category. Evidence of implementing transformational change and improving performance. A strong knowledge and experience of the application of best in class continuous improvement systems, standards and tools and how to execute and monitor these through direct reports. Involvement in “key customer” relationship management and retention. Ability to challenge the views of others in a constructive and convincing manner where it is required to bring about positive change. A good understanding of modern management practice, technologies and processes.
