Description

Reporting to: Regional Planning Manager. Purpose of the job: Responsible for creating ingredients plans to keep processing and production flowing smoothly with the required materials in order to deliver high customer service levels whilst optimizing manufacturing cost items as well as working capital. Also accountable for the ordering of 3rd party products for distribution through the ROI network. Accountabilities: Creation and maintenance of a 13 week rolling ingredients plan by reviewing trends and customer demands to ensure efficient and effective delivery of production plans. Ensure on time delivery of all ingredients. Analyse longer term forecasts to determine if there are ingredients or capacity issues. Ordering of all 3rd party products for the primary depot from all relevant suppliers against business unit forecasts. Manage relationships with suppliers and identify any improvements. Prepare insights to enable the Regional Planning Manager and appropriate procurement managers to create effective purchase plans to minimise costs. Consistent use of KPI dashboard to drive materials planning performance in order to optimise customer service and production efficiencies as well as overall business costs. Weekly and monthly reporting of all ingredients stocks including dated and obsolete stocks. Qualifications: Third level qualification in a relevant discipline preferred. Supply chain qualification essential (or be willing to work towards. Skills: Experience and knowledge of IT systems used for holistic planning processes is essential. Strong organisational skills and ability to work in a structured and systematic manner delivering to business targets and timelines. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to work on own initiative including effective prioritisation of workload. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including proficiency in a range of Microsoft programs. Capable of enabling change, providing fresh thinking and an alternative perspective. Good financial understanding. Experience: Experience in a similar planning role gained in dynamic FMCG businesses. Wider customer service and supply chain operational experience preferential. Proven ability to deliver results against targets. Knowledge and experience of best in class continuous improvement systems. A good understanding of modern management practice, technologies and processes.
