Our client, a pharmaceutical company are looking for a Formulation Development Manager to join their team. The Role: To plan, direct and monitor projects against schedule and in accordance with company deadlines. To facilitate and analyse technical problems that arise (both internal and external. To support the functions of the Research & Development department. Attend a number of cross functional team meetings as R&D management representative including Area Management Team to ensure the effective running of the business. Manage training and health & safety activities. Compilation and distribution of departmental monthly, quarterly and annual metrics. Implement Health & Safety requirements as per site documentation including SOPs, Safety Statement and COPs. Continuously promote a positive safety culture by leading by example. Manage workload of the Formulation Development group to meet company goals. Creation of department goals. Management of department budget. Recruitment, leadership, development, appraisal and assessment of Formulation Development group members. Implement performance evaluations for all direct reports. Ensure that all work carried out is in compliance with the required standards conforming to company, cGxP, SOPs, regulatory regulations and guidelines, safety and environmental guidelines. To deliver excellent customer service (both internal and external) through project timelines in accordance with quality standards. Perform additional team tasks as agreed to support effective running of the Business. Check own work and that of others for accuracy ensuring that all work is documented thoroughly. The Person: Qualified to a minimum of MSc in Pharmaceutical science or related discipline. At least five years experience working in a formulation development, process development, manufacturing or related technical environment. Pre-formulation experience, including drug characterisation and ingredients selection. Formulation studies, considering such factors as particle size, polymorphisms, pH and solubility, as all can influence bioavailability and drug activity. Supervisory/management experience. Project management and team leadership experience.
