Clannad Care are actively recruiting for Health Care Assistants to provide quality homecare services in Co. Tipperary. Suitable applicants will have a minimum of the following. QQI Level 5 Care Skills. QQI Level 5 Care of the Elderly. Manual and Patient Handling (not essential as training can be provided. Duties and Responsibilities of this role will include: Assist clients with hygiene needs at the bedside / bathroom and the use of commodes, bedpan urinals etc. Observe skin conditions and report abnormalities to member of management team. Assist clients with dressing and grooming in accordance with individual preference. Assist with preparation and serving of light snacks and nutritious drinks. Helps to ensure that individual dietary needs are adhered to. Assist with lifting, turning, moving and re-positioning of clients using appropriate equipment. Assist clients with walking and general exercises. Assist with safe transfer of clients from bed to chair where applicable. Assist with pressure sore prevention. Assist clients with achieving or maximising independence where applicable. Communication and Documentation Reports any unusual occurrence to the management team e.g. pain, distress. Completes journal entries for each scheduled call with clients. Report to supervisor any concerns, accidents or incidents involving clients.
