We are currently looking to recruit a New Technology and Innoation Manager for a FMCG company based in the South East. This is a great opportunity for career progression, to develop and grow with a rapidly expanding and innovative business. The primary responsibility of the New Technology and Innovation Manager is to drive product innovation. They will manage the development and start-up of products and coordinate, agree and monitor projects through the company's stage gate process. They will understand food and flavour development and the consumer trends, coupled with this an awareness of the production processes, the technology and systems available. The New Technology and Innovation Manager will be responsible for project management and consulting with various stakeholders to deliver on objectives. The role : The New Technology and Innovation Manager will have the following responsibilities: People Management - Manage roles, accountabilities, priorities, performance & results (in alignment with strategy) of the new product development team. Select, motivate, develop & retain key talent. Ensure all new staff (incl. temporary & contract staff) are trained on policies & requirements. Knowledge of technical and legislative requirements. Deliver on an ambitious new product development programme, discussing the NPD stage gate pipeline with senior management and prioritizing projects accordingly. Measure NPD success yearly and communicate findings to senior management. Maintaining and upgrading where necessary the NPD stage gate process. Highlight & gain support for initiatives that require cross-functional support. Proactively manage issues & work with operations to identify & implement sustainable solutions. Manage the NPD Budget and obtains funding for special projects when required. The person : 5-10 years’ experience within the Fast Moving Consumer Goods sector. Preference for at least 5 years management level in product development, Technical, or production processes and techniques within the food industry, including people management. Desirable direct meat processing experience. Passionate about product and food business. Excellent organisational and project management skills. Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
