Shift Production Manager - County Tipperary. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced food manufacturing business wishing to add an experienced production professional to the management team. The Role: As Shift Production manager, reporting to the Operations Manager you have will have the opportunity to utilize and develop your production management skills and to be a key member of the management team. Specific Responsibilities: The daily management of the processing business is the essential reason for this appointment but the role will also entail responsibility for a range of compliance functions. The successful applicant will be expected to lead a skilled production team, creating the conditions where results are achieved by motivated personnel in an environment of high morale, mutual respect driven by a focus on the customer. Creating a strong culture of Lean Six Sigma will be a primary focus of this exciting and challenging role. Your business areas will meet and exceed customer specifications and expectations, and you will manage key metrics such as Product Safety, Quality, Environment, Operations and Cost. You will be expected to lead daily SIMs board meetings, reporting summary operational performance to senior management. The role requires the updating and maintenance of HACCP and you will ensure that product is produced according to Food Safety and Customer requirements, implementing Corrective Actions in a timely manner concerning Quality, Health and Safety and any other compliance or customer audits as they arise. General Responsibilities: Managing Time & Attendance for your areas of responsibility. You will be required to work on a rotational shift basis so flexibility in this regard is expected. Ensuring that factory GMP is the most modern in the industry and is audit-ready at all times. Maintaining the cross-training plan for operations personnel to meet customer and compliance audit requirements. Supporting the introduction of new process technology/equipment and completing the requisite training. Facilitating the Maintenance Manager in implementing preventative maintenance in order to reduce downtime. Optimising yield without compromising product specification and ensuring that losses are minimal. The management of packaging, ingredient and other raw material stocks enabling the most cost-efficient production for the industry. Qualifications and Experience Sought: The Successful applicant will be the one who can demonstrate their proven ability to achieve results through teamwork and the leadership of others in a fast-paced environment where the business is heavily audited. Applicants must have a relevant Manufacturing/Engineering/Science Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 to 3 years relevant industry experience, with previous experience in the dairy industry an advantage. Experience in a regulated production environment / accustomed to audits, compliance and timelines will be key. Experience in LEAN Six Sigma will also be a clear advantage.
