Director - Data Analytics For the founding team of a new Nenagh based R&D centre with Global Fintech company, building the next generation of commerce infrastructure and services through user-centred design and engineering. As Director of the Advanced Analytics team you will be a senior leader responsible for the management and direction of R&D activities of our data science projects. Apache Hadoop is the core of the big data platform. Spark, Impala, Hive, Map / Reduce, Spark Mlib, Apache Mahout are some of the tools within the platform eco system that will be employed. Main focus of the role. Build a team of data scientists and researchers to support successful launch of products and solutions. Analyse tools within the Apache Hadoop ecosystem. Define the right questions to ask. Build new prediction models to answer our ML problems. What we like to see: Experience preferably in the financial sector. Experience in R&D, big data, data science and visualization tools. Proficiency in structured or unstructured database types and query languages. Data-oriented; in-depth knowledge of information & data fundamentals. Work independently, be strategic, plain talking when setting out the direction for the team and stakeholders.
