Maintenance Manager - County Tipperary. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced food manufacturing business wishing to add an experienced maintenance professional to the management team. Description. As Maintenance Manager, reporting to the Operations Manager you have will have the opportunity to utilise and develop your maintenance management skills and to be a key member of the management team. Specific Responsibilities: The daily management of the Maintenance Department is the essential reason for this appointment but the role will also entail responsibility for project management, supporting the operations departments and a range of compliance functions. The successful applicant will be expected to lead a skilled maintenance team of 10, creating the conditions where results are achieved by motivated personnel in an environment of high morale, mutual respect, driven by a focus on the customer. Working in conjunction with other departments creating a strong culture of Lean Six Sigma will be a primary focus of this exciting and challenging role. You will be expected to lead daily SIMs board meetings for the Maintenance Department, reporting summary of performance to senior management. General Responsibilities: Achieving the key site maintenance KPI targets. Implementation & day to day management of the PEMAC system, especially focussing on developing a maintenance schedule for planned plant shutdowns. Managing the site maintenance budget so that budget cost targets are achieved. Ensuring all factory equipment operates to the targeted throughputs & capacities. Managing capital projects by ensuring timeline & budgeted cost targets are achieved. Ensuring all engineering activities on site are completed to world class Quality, Environmental & Health & Safety standards. Ensuring all equipment & processes are operating to within their safe design operating limits. Ensuring all engineering & maintenance activities are carried out by competent & trained staff. Upskilling & developing of the maintenance team in both the areas of electrical & mechanical. Managing time & attendance of direct reports. Developing & managing a critical equipment spare parts list for the site. In conjunction with the Operations Team determine root cause to on-going equipment issues, & implement corrective actions that result in a permanent solution. Supporting the introduction of new process technology/equipment and completing the requisite training for the maintenance department. Implementing Site Engineering improvement opportunities through the use of Lean Six Sigma techniques. Procurement & management of all energy used on site. Qualifications and Experience Sought: The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a proven ability to achieve results through teamwork and the leadership of others in a fast-paced environment where the business is heavily audited. Applicants must have a relevant Engineering Degree/Diploma and a minimum of 5 years' relevant industry experience. Experience in LEAN Six Sigma will also be a clear advantage.
