Our client, a leading Waterford based manufacturing company currently has a vacancy for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. This is an opportunity to join a manufacturing company in a challenging and rewarding role with excellent opportunities for personal development.

This is a highly technical role and as the Senior Manufacturing Engineer you will support, debug and improve complex automation systems.

Working as part of a team you will develop, design and implement process and equipment improvements. In addition, you will also work to identify and eliminate repetitious machine failures, drive continuous improvements and prepare design specifications and associated documentation for equipment and system upgrades.

As the Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will also co-ordinate technician daily activities and provide consultative support to the Manufacturing and Maintenance groups. An important part of this role will be ensuring that those engaged in operations and maintenance activities have sufficient knowledge to perform their tasks.

• Bachelors in Engineering (mechanical or electronic)
• A minimum of 4 years in technical role in high volume manufacturing environment
• Injection Moulding experience preferred
• Solidworks experience preferred
• Six sigma experience preferred
• Good problem solving abilities – able to identify facts, consider alternative approaches and evaluate the most appropriate action
• Medical device and/or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
• Experience working in a validated environment with strong discipline with regard to change control is preferred.
